Until That Day (for wind orchestra)
Score and Parts
CA$80.00
This piece is about hope.
In the days of darkness, we long for the day of light. In the days of suppression, we long for the day of liberation. Before the arrival of that day, it is hope that carries us through. And until that day, we must not lose hope.
The music starts with a misty, slightly ominous mood, as if being in a search for something. This is followed by an intense passage featuring the percussion section. The piece ends with an affirming final section that symbolizes the power of hope.
The three-note motive which is made apparent throughout the piece derives from the hymn "It Is Well."
